Fall Nationals 2015

The Van Horn Family traveled to Orlando, Florida to participate in the ATA Fall Nationals Tournament and Training Seminars. This event is 2nd in size to only the ATA World's Competition and Convention. In competition, Mr. Van Horn placed 1st in Tradtional Weapons, 3rd in Traditional Forms, and 3rd in Sparring. Mrs. Van Horn placed 2nd in Sparring and 3rd in Traditional Weapons. Miss Faith placed 3rd in Combat Weapon Sparring. Mr. Ryan placed 2nd in Sparring. Mr. Tyler placed 3rd in Sparring. It was a great day for Sparring!! :)

Miss Faith attended a Team Sparring Seminar and tried out for the ATA Invitational ESPN show for a Team Sparring Exhibition Event. It was a GREAT experience and she hopes to be able to participate in their future seminars and maybe someday make the U.S. Team!

Mrs. Van Horn attended a very interesting training seminar that studied how the power and effectiveness of Martial Arts can be explained through Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Our school has agreed to volunteer for a non-profit organization called Dignity Kids to help promote S.T.E.M. to the youth in our community. As some of you may already know, Mrs. Van Horn is a Computer Engineer and Mr. Van Horn is a Chemical Engineer. We are excited to volunteer and work with Dignity Kids where we can wear our Black Belts and Engineering Hats at the same time!
